Centered Window

I always wanted a text-Editor that I don't have to align in the middle of my screen first - so I started over three years ago with writing my own…

So Schreiben will always open in the middle of your screen and if you own a 23" ACD you can see one DIN A4/US Letter page. You can resize the window or just fit the text-view to fit to the window…

Sidebar

If you just want to focus on your writing you can hide the sidebar by just clicking between the scrollbar and the sidebar…

To adjust the view you can use the zoom slider at the bottom of the window or just cklick the buttons(images) and of course you can do that via the menu…

Preferences

In the preferences you can set up your default font, margins and indent. The next time you start Schreiben the new document will open with this preferences…

Edit Margins

You can also edit the margins of any opened document…

More Options

If needed you can apply more options/settings to your document withe the formatting palette or you can use this palette if you hide the sidebar…

Cat-Save-Typing

Of course you own a Mac - so you don't have the problems of a blue screen or other funny things that can cause a loss of your opened documents - but maybe you own a cat that loves the sleep on your portale mac like me…

So you can apply an interval to every open document and Schreiben will automatically save it every 1-60 minutes…

Snippets

You can save often used text-snippets so you can use them with ease and without searching the document on your Macintosh HD…

Misc

If needed you can add the current time with one click, you can open the statistic about the text you have written, you can export your document with one click or send a saved document as a mail attachment…

Schreiben can handle this file-formats:

.txt
.rtf
.rtfd
.doc
.xml
.schreiben

The DEMO will only open and save .schreiben files…
