It started as a very simple word processor with one window and three buttons with only one goal - to keep it as simple as possible and it always should start with a centered window. At that time, no other word processor had a centered window. Word still opens without a centered window, Pages has been dreams of the future, as well as Bean.
But with Pages and Bean on the market I ran into the typical trap every developer knows; but Pages does, but Bean does, but it needs this and it needs that and years later the code and the app itself is a mess. Java and even Word seem uncluttered compared to it.
I’ve tried my best - and it has been a hard decision - but finally the best solution was to write a completely new application from scratch. With one goal. To keep it as simple and uncluttered as possible. Again.
So here you are: the all new myWritings.
If you already own Schreiben, you can crossgrade for a reduced price
and if you've purchased Schreiben after 07/30/2009 - you are eligible for a free license.
The small print:
This is the last bug fix and compatibility update for Schreiben.
If the upcoming Mac OS 10.7 will require some tweaks - I will of course do that :-)
